Raggattitude

Revisiting a French-style dancehall odyssey.

The History of Raggattitude

When the legendary compilation Rapattitude (1991) brought French rap to the attention of a broader audience, underground reggae and, especially, French sound system, had taken root for nearly a decade already.

From the first sound system by the Panoyaux that set up camp in an abandoned chapel in the 20th arrondissement in Paris to the hit singles by Daddy Yod by way of the legendary broadcasts of Radio Nova, Seb Carayol, the curator of Say Watt?, will narrate, visually backed-up by photos and previously unseen documentaries, the Homeric saga with his guests, all of them players in this dancehall odyssey à la French.
